DISNEYLAND!

Posted by The Andersons:

Okay, Okay, I'm finally blogging! We just did so much this summer that everytime I thought about posting it, I just thought of all the pictures I was going to have to weed through and always decided to do it another day...well today is that day!
We started our summer off with a trip out to Disneyland! Every kid in Alex's carpool had made the trek out to California over the course of his school year and he just felt that he NEEDED to go! We flew out right after Zac's last soccer game and caught a flight out to California. We were able to spend Sunday with Matt's family at his sister Becky's house. We then headed to Hollywood where we decided there was nothing better to do on a Sunday evening than to hike up to the Hollywood sign.

It's sad that I couldn't remember to hit the "night shot" button on the camera. All the cute pictures turned out dark!!

The next morning we set off for Universal Studios where Zac and Sam got their faces painted while Alex, Mom, & Dad went on the Jurassic Park ride.

And the boys met Jaws.....

Then off to DISNEYLAND!! We spent three days exploring. Alex and Zac didn't want to have anything to do with the "baby" rides. They were all about Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad...and any roller coaster that would make mommy's stomach drop. I discovered I really like roller coasters, I just don't like heights or free falls! I vowed that I would go on any and all roller coasters that Alex decided to go on. I was EXTREMELY grateful that when we went back to redeem our voucher at the huge roller coaster in California Adventure that they had temporarily closed it down! I think it was divine intervention! (you can barely see Zac's eyes, but that little kid had more guts than his mom!) Alex and Zac would always sit in the front of Splash mountain to protect their mom from getting wet...and so she couldn't see the drop off so well...

We saw it's a bugs life, where Sammy thought he should be able to keep his sunglasses, and I decided to donate Matt's nice sunglasses in the drop off box. Thankfully for honest workers they still had the sunglasses two hours later when I returned for them! (and Matt couldn't ride me too hard because five minutes later he left his blackberry on Thunder Mountain Railroad...don't you just love justice!!)

We stayed late one night and hit toon town when all the little kids had gone home to bed.

We met Mickey Mouse...

And drove his car!

As well as meeting all the other characters that I don't even know who are!

We had a great trip. Then it was off to Sea World, where I have yet to download the pictures because I took them with the waterproof video camera, which turned out to be a good idea when the kids wanted to go on the "rapids" ride twice in a row. We were covered from our head to toes in water. Squishy shoes and all. It did make it easier to go to all the shows because we weren't scared of the "soak zone!" Then the next day with all of us overstimulated we hit the San Diego Zoo....

The boys decided that they had enough walking around and so we took the bus, and the tram, and when there was no other mode of transportation left they decided that it was time to go. We took a minor detour to the monkeys so that Zac could meet his real parents.

But before we could go home, all the kids needed was an overpriced lunch that came in a bucket and a special zoo cup! I wouldn't recommend the San Diego Zoo, the boys didn't care for it because it was to big to really see any of the animals. It might have been a better experience if they hadn't have just came from Universal Studios, Disneyland, and then Sea World. We were all a little disappointed and called it a day after only two hours! (that was course after the kids had their lunch...)

We finished off our California trip with a nice relaxing day at the beach. I could have used a few more of these!

expecially when we buried Zac in the sand!

It was a great trip and one that I can't wait to repeat! Huge thanks to Matt's parents that helped make it all possible. They spent the week with us so that they could take Sammy on all the kids rides while we took the big boys on their rides and then we would swap. I couldn't imagine doing Disneyland without them! ...and even better they offered to meet us there anytime we wanted to go! Thanks in advance Mom and Dad for all the future trips you will make with us to Disneyland!

A Good Night!

When I get to watch the video of my life, last night is going to be one of those nights that I will hit the pause button on to remind me just how much I love being a mom! Matt and I took all the boys to the Scera outdoor movie, Hook. The boys carted their bean bag chairs and blankets in, and Matt provided us with an endless supply of popcorn and soda. They were doing their "celebrity" singing competition for the first hour (and of course it went a little long). The boys were dancing and singing to the music, and then the 2.5 hour movie started just after 10pm. The boys were amazing! They were so cute all snuggled up together under the blankets. They even decided that it was okay to come and snuggle with mom and dad to watch the movie. Every once in a while Sammy would sit up to point out an airplane, or dog, or something in the movie that was a word he could pronounce, and then he would snuggle back in and watch the show. The only one that fell asleep was Matt, but that's okay because it allowed the rest of us to use him for a pillow. If I had a camera to capture the moment of all of us on that blanket snuggling in and loving each other it would make some of the days where there is not so much "loving" more enjoyable. What a great night! The boys were so excited to learn on the way home that they stayed up way past midnight! What a sweet thing to hear all their excited chatter in the back seat on the way home and to turn around and see them all propping their heads up on their blankets, with their hands in the box eating all the leftover popcorn! Definitely a night I will remember!

A Perfect Day

Posted by The Andersons:

Today was one of those perfect days. A couple hours at the spa (thanks to an amazingly thoughtful hubby) with a little shopping and a cute new pair of shoes. A nice and quiet lunch with my handsome husband and then an hour spent snuggling a friend's 2 day old baby!! Then home to happy kids, a t-ball game and a great family dinner!

What more could a mom want? ...maybe two pairs of cute shoes!! :)

Sam Wii Boxing...

Posted by The Andersons:

I came across this video that I had forgotten about. It is Sam copying the big boys and their friends after playing boxing on the wii. He was actually pretty good and even beat a few of the older boys. He played for so long that he was dizzy and out of breath by the end. What a stud! It was so cute to watch...enjoy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM!

Posted by The Andersons:

My baby turned 2 today...I think he is officially growing up. I caught him yesterday running around in combat mode with Alex and Zac, and a sword shoved down the back of his shirt...ready and waiting!
We celebrated Sam's birthday a day early...because I was being selfish and didn't want to share my mothers day! He didn't seem to mind. He's ready to party every day!

Blowing out the candles. We did it a few times because it was so cute! I have a video posted below...a must see!

Sammy LOVED his birthday cake...what is better than cake, frosting, chocolate chips and a bunch of marshmallows?

No sharing with others...he wanted it all to himself!

And now the presents....

This one is from Grandma & Grandpa Anderson! Nothing could be better for Sam than a book and a stuffed animal. His two favorite loves in life! (at least when he is inside...outside is balls, balls, and more balls!)

I don't remember which of the kids opened this present...except that it wasn't Sam!

Bob the builder tractor! I was so grateful that the battery to this ran out FAST!

He scored! When you ask Sam a guestion he always answers by raising his hand! Matt asked him who wanted more presents...of course his answer was ME!!

Here are the videos as promised. Not the best quality, but you get the idea!

It was sssoooo cute...we had to do it a couple of time! There is nothing better than little boys! Happy Birthday Sam! Just in case it's not obvious, WE LOVE YOU!

The trick to a quiet house...

Posted by The Andersons:

Is to put the box of chips on the bottom shelf of the pantry...
I enjoyed a quiet shower and a little time to myself before I braced myself for the mess I would find on the other side of the door. I knew that anything that could keep three boys quiet for any length of time was going to probably involve a lot of clean-up! But the reality made me smile...a few bags of chips definitely go a long way!!
And now here are a few funny faces of our little baby who is growing so fast...

The things that entertain little boys...life in this house is fun!

A trip to the Children's Museum

Posted by The Andersons:

The little boys had so much fun discovering The Children's Museum at the gateway. Thanks Kim for the recommendation!

Aren't they so cute??? I think the helicopter was their favorite... (they take after their father for sure) but there were so many kids waiting in line I didn't take the time to snap a picture. We will definitely have to go back...is there ever a time that it isn't crowded?
