Okay, Okay, I'm finally blogging! We just did so much this summer that everytime I thought about posting it, I just thought of all the pictures I was going to have to weed through and always decided to do it another day...well today is that day!
We started our summer off with a trip out to Disneyland! Every kid in Alex's carpool had made the trek out to California over the course of his school year and he just felt that he NEEDED to go! We flew out right after Zac's last soccer game and caught a flight out to California. We were able to spend Sunday with Matt's family at his sister Becky's house. We then headed to Hollywood where we decided there was nothing better to do on a Sunday evening than to hike up to the Hollywood sign.
It's sad that I couldn't remember to hit the "night shot" button on the camera. All the cute pictures turned out dark!!

The next morning we set off for Universal Studios where Zac and Sam got their faces painted while Alex, Mom, & Dad went on the Jurassic Park ride.

And the boys met Jaws.....

Then off to DISNEYLAND!! We spent three days exploring. Alex and Zac didn't want to have anything to do with the "baby" rides. They were all about Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad...and any roller coaster that would make mommy's stomach drop. I discovered I really like roller coasters, I just don't like heights or free falls! I vowed that I would go on any and all roller coasters that Alex decided to go on. I was EXTREMELY grateful that when we went back to redeem our voucher at the huge roller coaster in California Adventure that they had temporarily closed it down! I think it was divine intervention! (you can barely see Zac's eyes, but that little kid had more guts than his mom!) Alex and Zac would always sit in the front of Splash mountain to protect their mom from getting wet...and so she couldn't see the drop off so well...

We saw it's a bugs life, where Sammy thought he should be able to keep his sunglasses, and I decided to donate Matt's nice sunglasses in the drop off box. Thankfully for honest workers they still had the sunglasses two hours later when I returned for them! (and Matt couldn't ride me too hard because five minutes later he left his blackberry on Thunder Mountain Railroad...don't you just love justice!!)

We stayed late one night and hit toon town when all the little kids had gone home to bed.

We met Mickey Mouse...

And drove his car!

As well as meeting all the other characters that I don't even know who are!

We had a great trip. Then it was off to Sea World, where I have yet to download the pictures because I took them with the waterproof video camera, which turned out to be a good idea when the kids wanted to go on the "rapids" ride twice in a row. We were covered from our head to toes in water. Squishy shoes and all. It did make it easier to go to all the shows because we weren't scared of the "soak zone!" Then the next day with all of us overstimulated we hit the San Diego Zoo....

The boys decided that they had enough walking around and so we took the bus, and the tram, and when there was no other mode of transportation left they decided that it was time to go. We took a minor detour to the monkeys so that Zac could meet his real parents.

But before we could go home, all the kids needed was an overpriced lunch that came in a bucket and a special zoo cup! I wouldn't recommend the San Diego Zoo, the boys didn't care for it because it was to big to really see any of the animals. It might have been a better experience if they hadn't have just came from Universal Studios, Disneyland, and then Sea World. We were all a little disappointed and called it a day after only two hours! (that was course after the kids had their lunch...)

We finished off our California trip with a nice relaxing day at the beach. I could have used a few more of these!

expecially when we buried Zac in the sand!

It was a great trip and one that I can't wait to repeat! Huge thanks to Matt's parents that helped make it all possible. They spent the week with us so that they could take Sammy on all the kids rides while we took the big boys on their rides and then we would swap. I couldn't imagine doing Disneyland without them! ...and even better they offered to meet us there anytime we wanted to go! Thanks in advance Mom and Dad for all the future trips you will make with us to Disneyland!
